Poetics

Judicaël Eymard is a French visual artist and ceramist based in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye.

His artistic style, nourished by poetry and the experience of life, arises from a physical and sensory relationship with matter. For him, expressing himself with matter is not about using it as a medium, but rather creating an intimate dialogue with it. Drawing inspiration from nature is not about repeating its forms, but about breathing in its vital energy. Creating, despite its inherent subjectivity, remains a way of being of service.

In his research, four recurring forms stand out: stone, body, desk, and column.

The stone for foundation; the body as an earthly envelope, as a “pot”; the office as a space of escape, whose inner journeys he likes to compare to those of a flying carpet; the column as a sign of elevation, of an earth stretched towards the sky — a verticality where gravity is perceived as a poetic force.

His work is rooted in the earth and the relationship between gesture, fire, and natural cycles. Through ceramics, he explores transformation, slowness, and the mineral memory held within landscapes. A keen observer of the materials he gathers, he creates glazes from the soils he inhabits, revealing the secret nuances of these places. This approach notably took shape at the Bergerie Nationale and the Domaine de Rambouillet, with Le Foyer—a wood-fired ceramic cabin and living architecture woven from plants, a symbolic work representing his connection to the land and the community.

For Judicaël, art is a poetics of experience and encounter.

Her creations reach their peak in collective and shared projects, where transmission, exchange, and the social dimension are at the heart of the process. Her collaborations with La Source Garouste and Charlotte Poulsen at La Borne nurture this desire for communion and mutual learning, where creation becomes an act of attentiveness to the world.

From language to earth, from gravity to lightness, his work questions matter as a mirror of our human condition.
He dedicates himself to research, both tangible and intangible, concerning the organization of the world and the sensory experience of living beings.

From the etheric earth, the creative journey continues…
